Flat-Rate Quotes
The pricing information on this website describes the flat-rate quoting structure set out in our Attorney-Client Fee Agreement. Important considerations:
- Case acceptance is not guaranteed. The attorney must agree to accept your case before representation begins.
- Every matter begins with a $500 engagement fee covering guided intake, full case-file and court-registry review, background research on both parties, a written case assessment, a strategy consultation with the attorney, and a written Plan of Action. It includes up to 1.5 hours of attorney time.
- The Plan of Action organizes the recommended work into phases. Each phase states its scope, the maximum attorney time it covers, and one flat fee, quoted in writing before the work begins.
- Each phase is funded in full before that work begins. Phases are quoted, paid, and performed as a whole; individual items within a phase cannot be purchased separately.
- You decide at every phase boundary whether to proceed, and are never obligated to fund further work.
- Where quoted work requires a court filing fee or service of process, the flat-rate quote includes it for standard filings. Extraordinary costs (depositions, expert witnesses, custody evaluations, amicus or ad litem attorneys, and similar) are never included in a quoted fee and are quoted separately in advance.
- Attorney time beyond a quote’s stated maximum is billed at $400.00 per hour, with notice whenever reasonably practicable.
